Totally Pinworthy Sundays

Today I'm linking up with Amy at Mahlimoo, Me and Three for Totally Pinworthy.  As you know I have just signed up to The Little Book Adventure, which you can read about here.  The first task is to set up a reading area for your family so that's what I have pinned.  Here are some very beautiful and awesome reading areas for inspiration :)

The Little Book Adventure

Our family loves reading and we love books so today while I was searching the internet for inspiration for play spaces throughout the home, I came across this blog/site: My Little Bookcase and because this year is the national year of reading for Australia, they have decided to focus on families reading together no matter what age and have put together a few challenges to do every month.

The Little Book Adventure began in March, but I only found out about it today so I'm still going to complete all the tasks with my family I just have to catch up a bit.  I love reading with Pickle even before he was born I used to read to him.  So I thought this challenge was perfect for us! If this sounds like something that you want to do with your family then you can sign up here.  Hope you're all having a great weekend :)

P.S: Eurovision song contest semi final 2 tonight! lol...

Organising the Office in May

After finding out we are expecting another baby I thought I'd better pull my finger out and start organising this house (as it's only two bedroom and quite small, I know I need to be organised to stop me from pulling all my hair out!) and the first place I wanted to start was my home office in the cupboard.

Also since starting a blog I decided I needed somewhere in our little house to write it and organise it, although starting this blog isn't the only reason why I need a home office.  I also need an area that can store important documents, family keepsakes, children's craft's, mail, and a place where I can keep other officey type things.
I had already assigned a linen cupboard as a place where I wanted my home office and I have painted and wallpapered the inside.  The only problem I had was that I just dumped everything in there and shut the door.  Big mistake! I ended up having paper all over the place and could never find anything when I wanted it, which was very frustrating.

But then ... One day I was reading one of my fave blogs 'The Organised Housewife' and Katrina had posted on her blog that she would be dedicating the entire month of May to organising the home office - Yipee! and I thought great what awesome timing!

So the first thing I had to do was to clear some of the mess out of the way so that I could actually get in there and do some serious work.  I headed to the local $2 shop and purchased a few storage items like plastic storage boxes of different sizes, ring binders, and storage drawers.

Armed and ready to go I set to work roughly sorting and preparing where I wanted everyhting to go.  Now I think I'm finally ready to start following Katrina's tips so that I don't fall into having a 'dumping' cupboard again.

So follow me on this organising quest as I work through organising my home starting with my office in the cupboard, and if you are needing help in organising your home office then I recommend following with Katrina at 'The Organised Housewife' to get some great tips.

Welcome to my blog!

Hi! I'm K and welcome to my blog Dragonfly Mumma :)

I have been working on setting up my blog for a little while, just getting my head around all the background stuff, mainly all the HTML codes, wow!, but in saying that I really enjoyed setting it all up.  So now I think I am finally ready to launch my blog to the world of the interwebs!

What I'm all about: Well, I'm a Fiancee to my Fiance lol and a stay at home Mum to our 2 year old son Pickle and soon to be a second time Mum to our little girl Jellybean (due on 27th August!).  We all live in Tasmania in a little cottage house together with our psychotic furball cat, with beautiful mountains surrounding us.

I was studying to become an Early Childhood Educator at uni but got distracted with my own babies, so that's all on hold for now :)  I also have a Diploma in Visual Art majoring in ceramics, which I love and hope to get back into again one day.

The reason why I started this blog is mainly because well ... I discovered blogs!  As a Mum at home with a small baby I had questions about different parenting issues and from this I found the amazing, interesting, inspiring and informative world of blogs and bloggers from all over the globe.  After reading a few blogs I was inspired to write my own.  I thought why not! So that's why I am here typing away :)

This blog is all about life as Dragonfly Mumma, it's about parenting, Motherhood, life, family, crafts, baking, cooking, ideas, inspiration and just about anything else I find interesting and worthwhile sharing.  All the ups and downs of being a parent, Mother, SAHM and human.

So welcome to my blog and I hope that you can tune in and enjoy this journey with me :)  You can also subscribe to my bloggy to keep up to date with all my goings on and you can find out more about me on my 'About' page and if you want to contact me you can leave a comment or find all of my details on my 'Contact' page.  I look forward to hearing from you :)
